We welcome well behaved dogs at Clifford Barton. It is a great place to bring your pooch, with many wonderful walks from your doorstep, and for those water lovers there is the River Teign close at hand. Once the dogs are exhausted from the exploration if they are staying in Mardon and Butterdon they can curl up in front of the woodburners and let their owners relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Doggy bliss! All of the local pubs and cafes are dog friendly so it's a very easy stay with your dog.
There are a few rules we ask are kept to:
- dogs need to be over a year in age.
- dogs are not to be left alone in the property at any time.
- we ask for dogs to be kept on the lead around the cottages and buildings as not all of our guests, especially the younger ones feel comfortable with dogs free roaming.
- dogs are not allowed to go in the bedrooms or on furniture.
There is a charge of £25 per dog per stay to cover the extra cleaning to ensure the cottages and their furnishings are spotlessly clean for our next guests.
"Had the most wonderful stay at the cottage with Millie and Mavis, the cockapoos. It was an oasis unto itself! We all adored the cottage and didn't want to leave! The dogs were in heaven with long walks along the river and were given hand made dog biscuits at the local cafe! We've already booked to come back in the Spring".
