Getting Here
We are located in the stunning Teign Valley on the north eastern edge of Dartmoor. A rural idyll, yet just 10 minutes from the A30.
CAR – From the South-west on the A38 – take the Bovey Tracey turnoff onto the A382. Head towards Bovey Tracey and then stay on the A382 until you reach Moretonhampstead. In the centre of Moretonhampstead go straight across at the crossroads (past the antiques shop on your left) and take the next right (Fore Street) and immediately left down Lime Street (opposite the library). Contine along this road, over Mardon Down and cross the River Teign at Clifford Bridge.. Shortly after the bridge there is a crossroads, go straight over signposted Cheriton Bishop. We are first on the left, signposted Clifford Barton. Follow the drive around which bears left to park in front of the cottages.
CAR – From the North on the M5/A30 – The M5 turns into the A30 after Exeter. After approx 8 miles on the A30 take the Woodleigh Junction exit (signposted Cheriton Bishop). On entering Cheriton Bishop turn left immediately before the Thatch Pub, signposted to Clifford Bridge. Continue along this road for 1.8 miles then take a right turn at a crossroads, signposted to Clifford Bridge. Follow this road down the hill for 0.8 miles then turn right into Clifford Barton. Follow the drive, which bears left to park in front of the cottages.
CAR – From the West on the A30 – Travelling east on the A30 take the Woodleigh Junction exit (signposted Cheriton Bishop). On entering Cheriton Bishop turn left immediately before the Thatch Pub, signposted to Clifford Bridge. Continue along this road for 1.8 miles then take a right turn at a crossroads, signposted to Clifford Bridge. Follow this road down the hill for 0.8 miles then turn right into Clifford Barton. Follow the drive, which bears left to park in front of the cottages.
BY BUS – from Exeter it’s the 359 Exeter – Moretonhampstead Bus which runs 5 times a day. Dunsford is the nearest stop. From here it about a 1/2 hour walk, or we can pick you up if we are around.
BY BIKE – If you are a competent cyclist a ride out to Clifford Barton from Exeter St Davids Station taken approx 50 minutes.
BY TRAIN – Exeter is the nearest mainline train station. It’s about a 20 minute taxi ride from here (costs approximately £xx).
