Getting Here

We are located in the stunning Teign Valley on the north eastern edge of Dartmoor. A rural idyll, yet just 10 minutes from the A30.

CAR – From the South on the A38 – take the Bovey Tracey turnoff onto the A382. Head towards Bovey Tracey and then stay on the A382 until you reach Moretonhampstead. In the centre of Moretonhampstead go straight across at the crossroads (past the antiques shop on your left) and take the next right (Fore Street) and immediately left down Lime Street (opposite the library). Contine along this road, over Mardon Down and cross the River Teign at Clifford Cross. Shortly after the bridge there is a crossroads, go straight over signposted Cheriton Bishop. We are first on the left, signposted Clifford Barton. Cross the cattle grid and follow the drive around which bears left to park in front of the cottages.

CAR – From the North or East  (or South on A30) – take the A30 past Exeter when it splits from the M5. Continue west for approximately 8 miles and exit at the Woodleigh Junction, signposted Cheriton Bishop. On entering Cheriton Bishop turn left immediately before the Thatch Pub, signposted to Clifford Bridge. Continue along this road for 1.8 miles then take the 2nd road on the right, signposted to Clifford Bridge. Follow this road down the hill for 0.8 miles then turn right into Clifford Barton. Cross the cattle grid and follow the drive around which bears left to park in front of the cottages.

BY BUS – from Exeter it’s the 359 Exeter – Moretonhampstead Bus which runs 5 times a day. Dunsford is the nearest stop. From here it about a 1/2 hour walk, or we can pick you up if we are around.

BY TRAIN – Exeter is the nearest mainline train station. It’s about a 20 minute taxi  ride from here (cost approximately £20).

BY BIKE – If you are a competent cyclist a ride out to Clifford Barton from Exeter St Davids Station taken approx 50 minutes.

We ADVISE YOU NOT TO USE SAT NAV  for the last 5 mins because it is likely to take you on a very scenic, but long and windy route.
